If you are planning an outdoor wedding, it can't get much better than the Camden Amphitheater in Camden Maine. Here is where you will find lovely landscaped terraced grounds supported by the backdrop of Camden Harbor. The Amphitheater is an open air theater and can accommodate up to hundreds of guests. It is conveniently located across from Camden's most scenic park harbor. The harbor makes a great backdrop with schooners and boats galore! However, make sure you have a rain plan in place as their is no coverage on the grounds should it rain. This is an ideal place if you are staying in Camden at one of the B&B's and like the convenience of an in town ceremony venue.

It was an unusually warm late summer day for an outdoor wedding. The John Peters Estate in Blue Hill, Maine, was by far one of the most luxurious venues to work at as a photographer. The Federal style home built in the 1800s is on the National Registry of Historic Places and sets high on a hill overlooking Peters Cove in Blue Hill.
When I arrived at the estate with my photography team, catering party planning company, Mickey Jowders of Cast Iron Catering in Blue Hill, were very busy with last minute preparations for 150 guests. One of my most favorite flowers, the sunflower, was the flower of the day provided by local florist in Surry, Sweet Pea Gardens. This was my third wedding to shoot this summer with the latest and hottest trendy colors of oranges, blues, and yellows. Wedding coordinator Laurie White, was johnny on the spot and will take care of all your needs. Laurie was great to work with.
Courtney and Tyler said their “I Do’s” in front of 150 guests set against the late setting sun and a beautiful field of Queen Anne’s Lace.
If you are bride that loves fun getting ready shots, this is your place! The bedrooms upstairs offer spacious room, cottagy vintage colors of white and blue and the available light is great for photography.
I give this wedding a full thumbs up! Thanks so much to the bride and groom for having us!
A perfect end for a summer wedding in Maine!

This was a very sweet intimate wedding I shot at the Bar Harbor Regency this past summer. Smaller weddings seem to be the style these days and I have noticed an increase in week day weddings as well, such as this one that took place on a Monday. Week day weddings most generally will be less cost with all your vendors. Just ask if they have a discount price for midweek.
Bar Harbor Regency offers a beautiful venue and backdrop for a wedding! What I love most about shooting here, is the wonderful large patio deck with wrought iron fencing that wraps around the deck. The deck overlooks the ocean with islands in the background. Also, if weather was a bit iffy, Bar Harbor Regency offers a stone building that will accommodate a larger sized wedding as well. When planning an outdoor wedding, I would recommend having a rain plan in place and a venue that offers a beautiful inside option.
My photography coverage for this wedding started with the ceremony, the bride making her entrance, the vows, the formals, then we ended their wonderful day on a whale watch boat cruise with the Whale Watch Boat Company. http://www.barharborregency.com/weddings/
